AIKIDO
Germanov Sensei
Founder of Tendokan Dojo and BAA (Bulgarian Aikido Association)
Aikido is traditional martial art created in the beginning of 20 th century from O-Sensei Morihei Ueshiba
Aikido is Budo in its true meaning – The Way of Martial art – not just bujutsu (Martial art technique) or bugei (martial art). Trainings are not only way to dominate or win over the others but a way to develop yourself – this is Budo. O-Sensei Morihei Ueshiba often used to say Masakatsu agatsu (The true victory is the self-victory) when explaining the essence of Aikido. Aikido is effective way of self-defence. The various techniques are reaction to aggression and way to harmonize yourself with the partner. Trainings are appropriate for all ages. Aikido is not a competitive martial art as compared to karate, kempo, jiu jitsu or taekwondo. Instead of competitions, there are various national and international seminars which purpose is the actual meeting between different people who practice Aikido. This is time for sharing experience, exchanging ideas and contributing to each others’ growth.
